Hi, Iris -
I hope you don't mind me writing. I recently found your book in my local bookstore & was so thrilled. My wonderful husband was with me and bought it for me as part of my 14th wedding anniversary present (the other part was a doumbek - did I mention he is wonderful?).
I haven't finished it yet, but I can't tell you how much I love it. I have been taking classes here in Baton Rouge at a studio called Bayou Shimmy (www.BayouShimmy.com - they are beautiful souls). The world of dance has always fascinated me, but I never considered myself beautiful enough or graceful enough or thin enough. Funny how after all those years of putting myself down, here I am in my mid-thirties, not caring about ANY of that anymore, and deeply, deeply in love with a dance deeper than I ever knew existed.
Thank you so much for putting down on paper what I feel in my heart. And for the enormous scope of research and knowledge you share in the book. There were so many questions I had when I started dancing. Things that were not available anywhere else.
So thank you so much for your contribution to my little world. And please let me know of anything else you may do in the future.

I sold five books at my retreat and have given a couple as gifts. So I was

Hello,
I would like to let people know about this amazing book that is written by
a fellow belly dancer. I admit that I am in it, but I get nothing for promoting it. The book has many belly dancers throughout, including photos and interviews.
The chapter that I was interviewed for involves belly dance and birth, I
used to be a midwife, and is VERY intensive.
Anyone interested in dance will like this book and anyone interested in
belly dance will love it.
